Powering Solar Fest though Solar Energy and Soy-Based Biodiesels

Significantly, all of the electricity used this year at Solar Fest 2009 will be derived from solar energy and soy-based biodiesels. From the solar-powered stage, tent talks, exhibitor booths, 5K start/finish line, and Radio Disney stage, it's all renewably powered.

As usual, Maverick Park will be filled with a great variety of exhibitors and entertainment including live music on an all-solar powered stage. But it's an even bigger, fun-for-the-entire-family kind of event this year starting with a "Run on the Sun" Solar Fest 5K at 8 a.m.  The festival continues 9-4 with a host of learning and entertainment opportunities:

Solar Fest has exciting opportunities for volunteers , vendors , and sponsors to support solar and renewable energy solutions in our city.

Exhibitors

We are currently accepting applications for vendors in these categories:  Solar and Renewable Energy, Green Building, Sustainable Products and Services, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, Government and Non-Profit Programs, RE Student Innovations, Eco-Art, Children's Activities, Cultural Performers, and Food Vendors.

Keep in mind our overall message of sustainability by being environmentally sensitive. Where possible, we encourage renewable-powered booths. Please hand out only essential business information, don't needlessly distribute plastic bags, etc. We want to keep waste to a minimum!  

Volunteers

We love our volunteers! There are many volunteer positions at Solar Fest. If you are interested, please email info@solarsanantonio.org with your name and physical or email address. Let us know what kind of experience you've had.
